In Tandem Arts is hosting a Climate Change Theatre Action at Main Street Landing's Black Box Theater. Aligned with COP25 (25th United Nations Convention on Climate Change), the event is a theater forum for climate change dialogue and an open reading of short plays.
NO PERFORMANCE EXPERIENCE REQUIRED. Actors, non-actors and viewers are ALL WELCOME.
Actors will choose from 15 different dramatic, experimental and/or comedic pieces to perform (through a sign-up process). Viewers will gain perspective on the issue through exposure to cultural vantage points from around the globe. Participants should plan to come at 6 pm to prepare for the reading. Viewers come at 7 pm and grab a seat!
Curated by In Tandem Arts, the plays are selected from a collection of 50 original works that address an aspect of climate change by playwrights representing 25 different cultures. The collection has been compiled by Climate Change Theatre Action (CCTA), a collaboration between the Center for Sustainable Practice in the Arts, NoPassport Theatre Alliance, The Arctic Cycle, Theatre Without Borders, and York University.
